**Review of Hotel Shompen, Port Blair, Andaman** I recently stayed at Hotel Shompen in Port Blair, Andaman, and my experience was disappointing to say the least. Here’s a detailed account of my stay: **Ambiance and Atmosphere:** Hotel Shompen, located in Port Blair, initially appears decent. However, on Saturday and Sunday evenings, the atmosphere drastically changes. The hotel transforms into what seems like a red-light area, with sex workers frequenting the premises. This makes it highly unsuitable and unsafe for families or anyone seeking a peaceful stay. **Room Condition:** The rooms at Hotel Shompen leave much to be desired. Most rooms lack windows, which gives a claustrophobic feel. Furthermore, there is a persistent stringent smell that permeates the rooms, making the stay uncomfortable. **Amenities and Services:** The hotel’s amenities and services are severely lacking. The breakfast offered had only two options, both of which were of poor quality and taste. The bar primarily serves beer and whisky, with limited options for non-alcoholic beverages. The food quality in general is subpar and not worth the price. **Staff and Management:** The management seems indifferent to the concerns of guests. There are reports that suggest the Bar Men at the hotel is involved in running a sex racket, which is highly concerning and adds to the unsafe environment of the hotel. **Conclusion:** I strongly advise against visiting Hotel Shompen with family or even alone. The presence of sex workers during weekend evenings, coupled with poor room conditions, limited amenities, and low-quality food, make it an unwise choice for any traveler. It’s essential to prioritize safety and comfort while choosing accommodation, and unfortunately, Hotel Shompen fails on both fronts. This place is not a 3 star hotel. This is more like a regular lodging facility. The rooms are small with no proper ventilation and old AC units. It smells mold all the time and one night stay got me cold and infection. At night we found our bed was full of insects and had to switch room at night . Worst experience I ever had. On positive side, the restaurant service personnel are well mannered and courteous.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 days. The room we stayed in 1 St day was not spacious enough. Service and Food was good. Museum and local shopping are nearby.
